Italy in Infrared
Infrared Photography by David Margolis
Award winning photographer David Margolis has created a unique blend of old world charm with devastatingly beautiful black and white infrared photgraphy of Italy.
Rome, Capri and the Amalfi Coast are just a few of the locations captured during his extensive travels. While our eyes cannot detect the infrared spectrum, the camera can. This in turn opens up a whole new spectrum of imaging. Skies go dark and foliage takes on a white, ghostly effect.
The image of the Duomo in Rome along the Tiber river was taken in June around noon time. Many look at the image and assume it was photographed in the winter. Mr. Margolis takes traditional images and transforms them into fresh, new looks. Future infrared photography will come from the northern areas of Italy.
All photographs are produced on Cranes Silver Museo Rag paper. This paper is 100% cotton rag and has a life expectancy of 150 years! This may be the finest fine art paper on the market today. Each print is produced in a limited edition of 25. All prints are signed and numbered by the photographer and come with a letter of authenticity. Framing options are also available upon request.
